Website Features List

Website Features List

What makes our clients unique?  What exactly do you want your website to do?

During the sales process, often features are summarized together or omitted because the project has yet to be completely fleshed out by a quality discovery phase.  We simply don’t know what we don’t know until it is time to dive right in.

Simple Procedure for Something So Unique

A website features list is a simple word document with a name of a feature that best describes in short hand what it does, and a small paragraph with a bit more added detail.

A features list does not serve as replacement or placeholder for what is in the contract, but rather as a checklist to ensure that by the end of the project, we have built everything agree upon.  This also doubles as an aid to prevent scope creep, and keep launch date targets accurate.

Does this need an approval by the client?  What if scope changes?

Client approval is needed on the website features list, and serves as a shorthand way to ensure the development teams enable each feature, and test accurately for website projects.

But things happen.  Maybe the nature of the project has changed, or there is a new functionality that may not of been apparent at the beginning of the project found in discovery.  Addendums to the Feature list may be made, and further be evaluated against the contract to ensure no extra fees are required.  Lastly, evaluated against timelines to be sure client expectations are set appropriately to the unexpected change.
